Andi Stix is an accomplished interpretive artist, specializing in large, three-dimensional wooden artworks. Using the traditional technique of intarsia, she carefully fits together pieces of wood in varying shapes, sizes, and species to create mosaic-like compositions. By raising or lowering select pieces, she produces a striking illusion of depth that draws viewers into her work.
Breaking new ground in the intarsia world, Andi incorporates unconventional materials such as Japanese papers, glass, tiles, and even spray paint to expand the possibilities of the medium. She has also explored kinetic art, creating pieces that transform as the viewer moves, and developed layered designs that convey a sense of motion and energy. Each creation is a dynamic interplay of form, texture, and perspective—inviting viewers to discover something new from every angle.
